I wish Randy could come back to his home state, North Carolina! The closest I saw him last year was Vienna, VA and that wasn't that close for me (but it was well worth the trip) In 2006 my dad took me on a trip to see Randy with Loretta Lynn on Oct. 27 in Connecticut then on Oct 28 by himself in Massachusetts. If Randy could come to Eastern NC or even just NC, I would be a happy girl!
I am going to be going to your concert in Wendover, Nevada on Oct.18. Cant wait to see ya! I seen you years ago in Salt Lake City!! My question is ..How do i get into the VIP section? Not sure if you read these posts but if you do I'd like to know when you may be coming to the Columbus,Ohio area? When I was in the Army back in the late 80's I wasn't able to go to a concert when you were in Europe and I missed another not long after I got out. I deal with anxiety/panic disorder along with aggoraphobia so it isn't easy getting out alot of the time. At times I go months without leaving the house but I try not this get the best of me . I've been listening to your songs for well over 20 years and to this day your songs still push me through hard times. I'd like to personally thank you for those songs and the insperation they have givin me.

Nothing has changed and you are looking Great Man ^5. You sound just as good today as you did in 1993.
I have been a fan since DAY 1. What I mean is ,I've listened to Randy from the start. I have all his cds'. I've been to a number of concerts, I even had the luck of shaking hands.

Being a huge sports fan I usually tune into ESPN to see whats going on with my favorite teams. Sorry I missed the opportunity to hear them mention Randy.. I agree, that was nice and cool. To be mentioned as one' announcers favorite country artist.Just tells you, you never know where your going to find a Randy fan The guy definitely has great musical taste.
It was great to see Randy Travis get a mention on ESPN's baseball telecast last night. They showed a graphic about celebrities whose birthdays are this week, and Randy was one of the 4 people that they showed. The play-by-play announcer, Dan Shulman, even said that Randy was one his favorite country artists. I thought it was pretty cool.
Very Well said Linda, I hope you have more success with them responding and honoring your suggestion/ request then I've ever had.
It might ,make me rethink about renewing my subscription with them after all. :) Dee
Very well said. As is obvious from the number of members that have signed up for this site I am sure they would have no trouble selling an all-Randy issue.
Thanks ronda - I did just go on and send CW a note of encouragement (see below):
Thank you for including Randy Travis in your May 19 issue of Country Weekly.
As a long-time dedicated fan of Randy's though; I'd like to see CW dedicate an entire issue to him at some point in time as you have done for others. His accomplishments are many as I'm sure you know and it would be one heck of a collector's magazine for the true blue Randy Travis fans not to mention just the fans of country music.
He's soon to have a new CD released as i m sure you are all aware; I think then would be the perfect time to "catch up" with Randy covering all aspects of his career from its very beginnings on through to his next turn "Around the Bend."
Thank you.

As far as I'm concerned, with all that Randy has accomplished in his career, they should do an entire issue on just im from beginning until now like they have done for others.

I am a fan from the early 80s; from the first time I heard your voice. I have been to every concert that it was possible for me to get to when you came to Florida. I have rocks from the driveway of what I was told was your home in Asheville, Tenn. from 1993 and I have a picture of the front door of what I was told is your home in Santa Fe as my computer wallpaper that I took last year. I was in Santa Fe to visit my brother and when he told me you lived there I watched for you every where we went. What a wonderful thrill it would be to meet you. I think you have a special gift in your voice and have most of your albums. The first time I drove my car after my husbands death, I turned the radio on and heard Forever and Ever Amen for the first time. Gave me goosebumps. My husband and I went to see your concert in Daytona and were so impressed when it was announced that you prefered fans bring food for children instead of the usual flowers. You and Elizabeth are wonderful people. This world needs more like you.
LIFE LONG GOAL - THANKS THE INFLUENCE IN MY GROWTH AS SINGER
Hello sir,
My name is George Colvin, I am a country singer here in Abilene, TX. Originally from Oregon, I came here with th United States Air force and have been here for 7 years now. My father was a HUGE fan of your music and your demeaner as an unaffected star. That being said, I of course have the joy of know so much about you and knowing your music. You have so many fans you may never see this message, but you just never know right? So I thought i would give it a try. Just as my father I love your music, the story you tell, your life story, your religious beliefs and how you are so unaffected and never got caught up in transforming yourself to meet societal wants and changes in country music. Don't get me wrong sir, it all sounds great, but its great to see someone keep doing what they do and not changing theirs ways. The fact of the matter is, you never had to. You are a just a blessing. It may sound wierd, but growing up I sang country and having a deep voice and your influence and manerisms in your style that I kinda was molded lyrically with the same style if you will. NEVER would I say good as you my friend, but kinda uncanning since your voice and style is so original. My beautifful wife posted a short video cover of "Hard Rock Bottom" I did recently at this link http://youtube.com/watch?v=kGMyaLXFDiw . I hope to someday meet you sir even just a short converse at church or anywhere would be so amazing to me. I also write music and would ove to give you my work to look over. Al of my lyrics are coming from a christian aspect or at least the way a good person should live. Most of them are inspirational or ones which put your life and the way you do things into perspective. Fun stuff, even if I never get to make a record or write for others. Thanks for your time.
I see they finally added this to the schedule now - of course anything, especially with GAC, is subject to change. Let's just hope it doesn't.

I am so thankful that I found the "Angel" song one day while I was online. I would love to put this on My Space site in MEMORY OF MY MOTHER if that would be possible. I lost my Angel Mother on July 22, 2007. She was my Mother, and my very best friend. I am so lost without her, and struggle everyday to try and move on with my life without my Precious Momma. Ever since, I listened to this song for the very first time, I have to listen to alot during the day. Thank you for singing such a beautiful song. It really helps to listen to this song, and God Bless You For Singing It. You do such a terrific job. Thank You.
Over 20 years ago, my best friend introduced me to your music. less than 3 years later, I lost my best friend in an auto accident that claimed his life. On May 31, 1990, I gave birth to my daughter, who I named for my best friend. I wrote you a letter during the first year of her life explaining to you how my best friend and your music had changed my life. It had been there through the joys of friendship as well as the tears of sorrow and then, minutes after being born, my child was comforted by the sound of your music that she had heard for so many months in my womb. On her first birthday you sent her an autographed photo which she has kept and cherished throughout her life. Today, she is able to recognize your voice as I do...with one note...and she insists on listening and we never bypass a song when we find you on the radio. She will be 18 on May 31, 2008. You shared that first birthday with her and I wanted to tell you that even on her 18th birthday, she is still loving your music. Thank you for being constant over the years. Our lives have been filled with both joy and sorrow but through it all, you and your music have been a constant in our lives. Thank you so much.
I know that is a private matter but i would like a clarification in my own mind if Mr. Hagee is your oastor and if you agree with his views on the Catholic Chuirch.
I have been listening to Randy for almost 20 years, and have watched his music transform into Christian music, and I can say that I love both the old and the new. Randy, you have a one of a kind voice as well as a gift to write, sing and preform, and a will to always strive for the best.
Back in 1992, when Randy was at the top of the charts, my little girl Tanaya, was ill with a rare disease, and stuck in Childrens hospital. I wrote Randy a letter and explained how much he meant to my child. Randy, all on his own, called the hospital to speak with her, but she had gone home already. Somehow Randy convinced the hospital to give him our home phone number, which was a great surprise when he called and talked to my daughter. She is now 27 and has two little girls of her own, she still talks about going to Randys ranch and riding his horses with him, he had told her one day she could.
I thought you might want to know how she was doing Randy. She has had two relapses since 1992, but is now working 12 hours shifts as a nurses aid at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock,AR.
I thank You for taking time out of your busy schedule to make a little girls dream come true, and her mom too!
Keep up the good work. God Bless You.

Hi,
i live in France, i'm a Randy Travis' fan since the beginning, i saw Randy for the first time in Paris at the Elysée Montmartre and i also met him in Nashville, at the Fan Fair in 1998, made a picture with him. I've always loved everything he's done and still love today and even more... I just wanna say that you are to me a reason to live and this world is a wonderful place when i see or listen to Randy, thank you for what you do and God bless you.
David from France.
Thank you Countybug, I kept going through what was on GAC tonight, and I found what you were talking about. I have it TIVO'ed so I will have it taped while I watch it.
I am confused about the time here in California. I can't seem to find Randy on GAC at anytime today. I don't want to miss this one. Could someone clear what time I should look for? I have been an admirer of his for years, back when he first got started. This latest song, "Faith In You" in just wonderful. I bought the video and got the song here for a free download.
Thanks for any help.
Missyrowe, that is 8:00pm central and 9:00 pmeastern times . Thought I better clarify that. Don't want anyaone to think they missed it if they tune in at 8:00 and it is not showing.
Randy was different right from the begining for me. Not just because of his amazing voice. His ability to convey with conviction and believability the story of the lyrics. It was the kind of music that Randy choose to record that made him different. That connected with me.
I've been listening to country music since I was a teenager. I'm well into my senior years. So I've heard a lot of songs and a lot of different artists throughout the journey. Randy connected with the public in a way that few artists have, or do. He choose material that gave hope, made you laugh, made you look into yourself, that expressed fidelity andf love of your partner and your family. Those are the things that impressed me about Randy. That made me a life long fan.
He understood too, what it meant to be a fan. Randy remained one of us....a fan . Not only of those who he loved hearing, seeing in person or on tv, as he grew up. But of the music that he held dear in his heart.. He didn't sell out for hit singles, or to have more record sales. He remained true to his convictions. His desire to perform the kind of music he grew up loving and that his fans loved hearing from him.
Like his secular albums,Randy's love for the Lord was genuine and evident in his deliveriesof on his gospel albums. And again connected with the public.
Today, the number of registrants to this site is confirmation that the man, the artist, and the music, are still very much desired, loved and respected by all who appreciate what he represents as a human being, as a very talented artist ,singer, song writer and an actor..

I am so thankful that I found the "Angel" song one day while I was online. I would love to put this on My Space site in MEMORY OF MY MOTHER if that would be possible.

Time on the West Coast?
I am confused about the time here in California. I can't seem to find Randy on GAC at anytime today. I don't want to miss this one. Could someone clear what time I should look for? I have been an admirer of his for years, back when he first got started. This latest song, "Faith In You" in just wonderful. I bought the video and got the song here for a free download.
Thanks for any help.

Why I love Randy
